'Welcome to our Taoist meditation Workshop!


How do we set up our meditation space? How long do we meditate? What do we focus on? What are some techniques to help us overcome distractions? 


The workshop will include some guided meditations and provide plenty of time for questions.


Taoist meditation methods have many points in common with Hindu and Buddhist systems, but the Taoist way is less abstract and far more down-to-earth than the contemplative traditions which evolved in India.

An introduction to the ancient art of Tai Chi Chuan and Qi Gong.

 

Tai Chi Chuan is an ancient form of Chinese martial arts that has become world famous for its amazing health benefits. Often described as a "moving meditation," the slow and graceful movements of Tai Chi can help develop and maintain strength, flexibility and balance, and could be the perfect activity for the rest of your life.


In this workshop we will learn the basics steps and postures in Tai Chi and Qi Gong: In the first part will focus on structure, the Tai Chi way of moving/stepping, and the general choreography. The second part will introduce Qi Gong energetics and exploring balance and base, and the mechanics of absorbing and releasing force. The final part will explore the meaning behind the postures, discutions, questions and answers
As an introductory course.

 

This workshop requires no previous experience. All fitness levels are welcome. Please bring indor shoes with you.
